1) How can I be sure that my Meat will be fresh upon arrival?

We do everything to ensure that your goods arrive on your doorstep as fresh as the moment it was hand prepared by our butcher. We use specially designed temperature controlled boxes and ice packs which ensure that the meat and fish products stay below 5 degrees for up to 48 hours. Please see our Deliveries & Packaging section for more detail. 


2) Is all of your meat British?

The majority of products on our site are British. We only source quality British beef, lamb and many of our pork and chicken products are from British farms with some exceptions - so you will be supporting British farms in ordering a LiveLean meat box. We do also offer some cheaper products which we source from European countries to give people the option of buying at incredible value – for instance we offer quality Danish bacon and gammon. Our British products will be clearly marked. If you have any queries, please contact us and we can help.


3) For how long does the Meat stay fresh in the LiveLean box?

Our packaging has been tested to show that the contents of the box will remain at the desired temperature for up to 48 hours, although our courier delivers within 24 hours of collection. On the rare occasion your box cannot be delivered the contents will stay fresh but it is the customer's rsponsibility to manage their delivery.


4) What about your frozen products?

The majority of our meats are fresh but some of the more exotic cuts and game will be frozen when they are packed. We recommend that you do not re-freeze these products if they have thawed during transit; simply refrigerate and consume within a week.


5) But I can freeze the fresh Meat, yeah?

Absolutely! You have two choices with your fresh produce: 1. Store in the fridge and consume within the ‘use by’ date or; 2. Store in your freezer and consume within 6 months.


6) How quickly will my order be delivered?

Your order will be delivered within 24 hours from being despatched. We deliver from Tuesday through to Friday. You can select your delivery date in checkout which gives you the flexibility of arranging for someone to be in to collect your parcel.


7) What if I am not in?

I am not going to be in… don’t worry – there are options! Firstly, ensure that you fill out the ‘Delivery Instructions’ to help the driver get your order to a safe place – whether it be at a neighbour’s house or by the side of the shed! The boxes are robust, well insulated and sealed so do not worry about them being left outside.

We will text and email you with delivery information so hopefully you can co-ordinate your box’s safe delivery. Should our driver not be able to find a safe place, and nobody is answering the door, as a last call of action they will return the box to the nearest post office and contact you again regarding the collection address. Remember - the boxes remain chilled for up to 48 hours so there will be plenty of time to get you your LiveLean goodies!

9) What days and times do you deliver?

We use Parcel Force who operate a Tuesday through to Friday delivery service. This means that your last chance of placing an order for delivery the same week is a Wednesday afternoon before 1pm. As a rule of thumb if you order before 1pm you will receive delivery within 48 hours. Our courier operates between 07.00-18.30. See our order / delivery table below:

10) How much does delivery cost?

Our minimum order is £25 and our delivery charge is £3.95. Orders over £75 will attract free delivery

12) Are your products organic?

Our meat and fish isn’t organic, but please do not confuse the term ‘organic’ with the highest quality. All of our meat is of very high quality and each animal lives its life in good, healthy conditions.The term organic can be attributed to meat products which are no better than our own yet cost 4x as much.. 

All of our beef and lamb is grass-fed, our chicken is high welfare and we offer some quality free range pork products. We also support the Buy British movement. 

We also offer a selection of free range chicken and we have recently included 'Pasture for Life' beef products which is the most reliable and noteworthy accreditation for 100% Grass Fed produce - something we are very proud of.


13) The vacuum packed meats have an odd odour initially?

After having initially opened your vacuum sealed meat it is perfectly normal to encounter a slight odour. This is called ‘confinement odour’ and will dissipate after a minute or so once the oxygen has got to the meat. Let the product breathe on a plate out of the packaging and it will be absolutely fine.


14) How do I change/cancel an order I have made?

15) What payment methods do you accept?

You have two options – if you have a PayPal account you can use that or you can use your credit / debit card. We accept the following cards: Visa, Mastercard, and American Express.


16) Is Payment Secure?

Shopping with us is perfectly safe. PayPal is the largest payment gateway in the world and, as such, offers the most secure service. We do not save your card details on our site and the LiveLean checkout process is secured with an SSL certificate. We have been verified by Trustwave which guarantees a secure checkout area so rest assured, your card details are safe.
