Coconut Sugar can be used as a direct replacement for table sugar in an abundance of recipes and bakes. It’s natural sweet flavour, similar to caramel makes it a great addition to almost any sweet treat. Simply use this as you would regular sugar and follow your recipe as usual.
Organic Coconut Sugar has a considerably lower Glycaemic Index (GI) rating than regular table sugar. Whilst regular sugar scores 100 on the GI scale, Coconut Sugar typically scores around 35. This means it gives a more sustained release of energy and helps to avoid sudden spikes in blood sugar and insulin.
